"The Valentine Gamble" by Katherine Garbera and Eve Gaddy is book six in the "Whiskey River" series. This is Johnny Gamble and Fiona Lannigan's story. Johnny and Fiona have known each for more than ten years. They went to college together and they are also partners in a law firm. Johnny and Fiona both feel the chemistry between them, but haven't really acted on it. They didn't want to ruin their friendship or working relationship. Things start to change after Johnny and Fiona get matched up at the Town's annual Valentine's Day dance. This is a sweet and steamy read. Johnny's character was great! I loved how once he realized how he felt about Fiona he didn't give up. He handled his pursuit of Fiona in a way that wasn't overbearing, but sweet and romantic. The authors do a great job of getting the reader's attention right away. It makes you wish you could go to Whiskey River and meet everyone. I have enjoyed all the books in the Whiskey River series. They can all be read as standalone but you will have more of a connection with the characters if you read the series. I recommend that you do because it is a fun and steamy series. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and Tule Publishing for an honest review. FYI, contains mature content.
