Tired of torturing damned souls, Lucifer decides it's time for a career change. As the new CEO of the HELL Corporation, Luce Iblis is ready to take over the world, starting with a city he's sure even angels haven't heard about: Perth, Western Australia.
Until an angel appears in his office, vowing that the Lord of Hell will never win.
Hell hath no fury like a devil scorned.
And Lucifer's about to raise Hell.

  • Lucifer like you’ve never seen before.

Lucifer or Luce is the Devil, but he’s tired of just running hell, so he tries his hand at the corporate world. The Devils Work takes a new look at the daily grind of Luce and all his lesser demons, many who can be recognized from demon folklore. This was a great prequel book to the Mel Goes to Hell/Welcome to Hell series that follows the Angel Melody Angel as she works as an Assistant to Lilith and tries to find out what the devil Luce is up to with the HELL corporation. It was an interesting twist to angel and demon folklore as well as a great begging to the series.
  • Fun Read

I haven’t read the series, so it’s all new. I found it entertaining and fun to read. A great get away from the serious day to day and indulge yourself kind of book.

This is a fun and funny read. I enjoyed meeting Lucifer. I have to say if I were to picture the devil this is what I would imagine.
  • Fun and Enjoyable Read (3.5⭐️)

Although I read other works by this author this is the first of the Mel Goes to Hell series that I’ve read. I thought it was pretty good. The Devil’s Work is like a prequel. It gives the reader some background on Lucifer/Luce and what brought him to earth and how he meets Mel. I look forward to finding out more about who Mel is and what her goals are in the next book.
  • Interesting take on the King of Hell

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. In this book, Lucifer, or Luce, decides that he is going to take over the world, starting with Southern Australia. He begins taking over parts of the government, but he has to do it all legally. He uses demons to run everything in place of humans to do it cheaper. He is still has opposition, in the form of Raphael, the angel. This is a good quick read, and I look forward to the next book in the series!
  • Aww, Hell

I have not read any of the other books in this series. That being said, I have 2 main issues with this book. 1. The main character lacks any depth. Maybe I watch too much Supernatural, but I expect more from the King of Hell. I was looking for a Crowley, who you root for even though he’s evil. I mean he kills people, but eventually ends up on the side of good and becomes a favorite character. Or else, a Lucifer, who you just love to hate! Every episode with him, I was yelling at the tv, “Someone kill him already!” Luce is supposed to be this devilishly sexy, powerful man, that all women (and men) are inevitably drawn to. Alas, the only feeling he engendered in me, was irritation. Every time he spoke, all I could picture was a bratty entitled frat boy. Not attractive at all. 2. It was really distracting how often the word Hell, or a reference to Hell, was mentioned. I don’t feel that I need to be constantly reminded that he’s the devil. I think the storyline has definite potential, but if I had to describe it in one word: blah.
  • Humorous

So Lucifer has come from Hell to take over the earth through the business end of government. Not surprisingly, he’s a playboy with lots of demons to do his bidding. This one was a little drawn out yet has some humorous moments. And the sneak peek into the next book is wonderful. I voluntarily agreed to review this book, and was given an Advanced Reader Copy to do so.
  • Fun read

Love this view! I have read the entire series and love the humor and intrigue found throughout. This book will have you running to read the entire series
  • Loved it!

Have read other books by this author and loved them. This is the first book in a new series. I could not put the book down until I finished it. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
  • Just a prequel

This wasn’t one of her better books. I would call this a prequel instead of book 1 it’s repetitive and you don’t meet Mel until the last chapter then the book abruptly ends. If you want to know her you’re going to have to read the next book.
