The passionate new romance from E L James, author of the phenomenal #1 bestselling Fifty Shades Trilogy

London, 2019. Life has been easy for Maxim Trevelyan. With his good looks, aristocratic connections, and money, he’s never had to work and he’s rarely slept alone. But all that changes when tragedy strikes and Maxim inherits his family’s noble title, wealth, and estates, and all the responsibility that entails. It’s a role he’s not prepared for and one that he struggles to face.
But his biggest challenge is fighting his desire for an unexpected, enigmatic young woman who’s recently arrived in England, possessing little more than a dangerous and troublesome past.  Reticent, beautiful, and musically gifted, she’s an alluring mystery, and Maxim’s longing for her deepens into a passion that he’s never experienced and dares not name. Just who is Alessia Demachi? Can Maxim protect her from the malevolence that threatens her? And what will she do when she learns that he’s been hiding secrets of his own?
From the heart of London through wild, rural Cornwall to the bleak, forbidding beauty of the Balkans, The Mister is a roller-coaster ride of danger and desire that leaves the reader breathless to the very last page.

I enjoyed the audiobook, the narrators did an outstanding work. The story is interesting and will keep you reading. Characters are different and refreshing from what we usually read from the author. I hope to read more of their story soon.

I loved this book but, of course, I love all of E L James books. She is an incredible writer. The Fifty Shades series is my favorite. I have read them over and over again. E L really knows how to write a story. Can’t wait for more.
  • Underwhelmed

I had high hopes for this based on how much I liked the Fifty Shades books. I knew nothing about what this book was going to be when I bought it - just who wrote it. The storyline seemed so cliche and awkward. I normally devour books and I just really didn’t feel it with this one. It just lacked the flow and passion that her other works had.
  • What the hell did I just read?

I never expected 50 shades and fully understood and expected something different. This was about 100 pages too long. I kept waiting for It to get good- and it never really did. I was so disappointed. Maxim is not a desirable guy- whatsoever. The sex could’ve been hotter too! Anastasia was a virgin and the sex was still HOT. This was the same thing on repeat. Mediocre at best. It’s a good thing it didn’t have a sequel or I may have had to taken up drinking! I’m sorry E.L James, you really did not meet the expectation on this one at all.

Alesia was from Albania her father was noosing her husband. But he was not a kind man. So with her mothers help she escaped. Though the escape was the escape she thought. It was human trafficking. Once again she escaped. Those men were after her. But her mother had one friend in London and Allessia made to Magda house. Were she stayed and worked as a cleaner for Lord Maxim. They developed a relationship and he couldn’t help himself. He was grieving for his either but he fell in love with her. Their story isn’t necessarily unique, but it full of suspense and intrigue. I was engrossed with the story. It appears to have a second part, unsure?

  • No chains...more love story

    By Kc0430
A modern day Cinderella. If you’re looking for Christian and Ana this is not it. A very different story with just love and lust between two people of different worlds. The only thing that is similar is the love of the two characters. The book does start slow but it gets addicting. I was so anxious to see where she took the story. If you love romance novels then you will love this. Now I just need confirmation of a sequel! I need more!
  • I literally can’t even explain

At first I was hesitant about getting it, but once I got it I was in love. Yes it may seem slow as you are waiting for the action, but it’s worth it. The details in this book were amazing, the relationship between them was beautiful. I highly recommend getting this 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
