Trapped in his tiny mountain cabin, she didn't expect to fall for his big heart.
Exposing a prominent criminal family with an investigative news report didn’t exactly work out the way Sabrina had hoped. Instead of basking in the glory of her article’s success, she’s on the run from a powerful man who wants her dead. To stay safe, she’s forced to trade one bad situation for another. Stuck in the Montana wilderness, she’s secluded from anything resembling civilization or the modern-day world. The only good thing about her situation is the gorgeous mountain man assigned to protect her. Too bad he isn’t the slightest bit interested in a city girl like her.
Beau likes his life quiet and simple. Give him a peaceful day hiking in the woods with his dog, and he’s a happy man. He has no use for large crowds, noisy cities or dramatic women. So when a hotshot reporter rolls into town, dragging her big-time problems with her, he should have run for the hills. Instead, he volunteered to keep her safe. Bringing her into his world won’t be easy, but if he can convince her that Montana isn’t as terrifying as she believes, they might just be the perfect match.

  • 5 stars for Beau!

5 stars for Beau! I really just want to write Beau's name repeatedly and that can be my review. To say I love him is an understatement. He is in my top 5 book heroes. Gosh he's silent, but strong. And Sabrina comes in and is just so full of life and fearless. “A woman could tell a lot by the way a man holds her. She could tell if he had the strength to endure the rougher moments. If he had a mighty yet kind heart. If he could make her feel safe and cherished. Beau’s embrace said all that and more.” While they fit together perfectly, they were also amazing apart. I could read a whole book about them separately and I would still love it. And those are the best kind of characters -- the ones that don't need each other, but still fight to be together because they want it. The plot was the perfect pace. The perfect mixture of drama, relationships, and twists. Seriously guys. So good.
  • Love in the Wild

I loved, loved, loved this book!!! Sabrina is on the run from the Federovs. She is a news journalist in Seattle, WA, and has broken the story, but has barely escaped with her life. She runs to her best friend Felicity in Prescott, Montana. Beau is Maisy's brother and he is going to take her to The Outpost to hide out deep in the woods to keep her safe. Can this city girl and mountain man find common ground? A must read book and one of my favorites of 2017!!! 5 stars
  • Beautiful!!!!

Another beautiful book by Devney Perry. Can't get enough of her books. Sabrina McKenzie is a reporter that after investigating and going undercover to investigate a mafia family and with her "boyfriend" being part of that family, she has to run after her "boyfriend" finds out and nearly killed her. Beau Holt works for the US Forest Service and is a Mountain man that takes Sabrina to an Outpost up in the Mountain to hide her. Loved the that even though they were very attracted to each other, it was slow building. Beau was Alpha but he was also sweet and caring. He also helped Sabrina with her nightmares. Sabrina was a City girl that slowly fell in love with her life in the mountains. and the epilogue was so beautiful. Can't wait for the next book in this series!
  • This book is everything and amazing read should be!

The Outpost is an incredible small town romance. It is book four in the Jamison Valley Series and a standalone. The series is comprised of standalones that should not be missed! Five stars are simply not enough. This book is everything that an amazing read should be! It is epic, heartwarming and panty melting! Sabrina aka Shortcake and Beau aka Goliath, are an unlikely match that just ends up making so much sense. This is truly one of my all time favorite series. The writing is stellar and perfectly paced. The characters are perfectly flawed, lovable and so, so real. Together they experience friendship and then a sweet, soulful, slow burn romance. Beau is a man who knows what he wants out of life. Some of what he wants he doesn't think is within his reach, but he hopes he can change the course of that decision. Sabrina is fearless and isn't afraid to reach for what she wants. She experiences a lot of growth and self realization at the outpost. She also comes to realize that everything she thought she hated is what she wants, needs and what completes her. It makes her feel whole and happy just like The Outpost makes you feel when you read it. This book made me get goose bumps and gave me that warm, fuzzy, happy feeling. I smiled ear to ear. Beau is quite the alpha man! We all need Beau in our life! One click The Outpost today and submerge yourself in an incredible reading experience. All of the books in the series are a perfect blend of alpha swoon, strong heroine, angst and small town goodness!
  • Amazing!

5 Stars The Outpost by Devney Perry is the fourth book in the Jamison Valley series. It can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the first three books first because they were AMAZING! It was hands down one of the best books I’ve read in 2017. Ms. Perry’s writing is absolutely beautiful, realistic, and honestly in my opinion flawless. Her characters are relatable and I one hundred percent completely fell in love with both Beau and Sabrina. Sabrina is a journalist who is on the run from a very dangerous man. With almost losing her life and nowhere to run, she goes to her best friend in Montana. But it puts them all in danger. Sabrina agrees to go to an Outpost in the middle of nowhere to hide until it’s safe. She is a “city” girl at heart and was expecting the worst of the worst. What she found was peace within herself and a woman who was resilient. What she wasn’t expecting was Beau to capture her heart. Beau is everything you’d ever want in a man. A gentle giant, solid, dependable, and loyal. He puts his life on hold to help his friends and to protect Sabrina. Even though he resists his attraction at first, you could feel it coming through the pages. As time goes on, Sabrina works her way into his heart and he is unsure of how to let her go… Together this couple was BREATHTAKING! Their chemistry was so beautiful and real. I honestly could not put this book down. I was not expecting such a wide range of emotions and trust me you will FEEL them all. Ms. Perry has a fan for life with this incredible book and I am so looking forward to reading the next book in the series!
