I usually leave reviews of Faith's books using an alias. Because we are friends, and because I've been consulted a few times on aspects of her stories. This book DESERVES the truth of the reviewer who is a total fan girl. I am half Cherokee. I was given up for adoption outside of our reservation. My birth mother wanted to give me the best chance at a good, educational, loving home. While I am proud of my family and thrilled to have grown up the way I did, I missed out on half of my heritage. Over the years, I've researched, tracked, and read up on as much of my Native heritage as I could. I can say with 100% certainty that Faith has done an amazing job in her presentation of Jane Yellowrock. Broken Soul is the second book in this series that has made me want to live in Jane's world. To be a part of her inner circle and fight by her side. The Broken Soul aspect could be used in so many varying ways on many different characters. It's that part that hit me hardest. To be on the outside of yourself looking in, trying to put the shattered pieces back together. Anyone, male or female, who has been in a war understands this. Each time you Witness death, cause it, clean it up, it shatters a little more of your soul. And while Jane never really signed up to become a killer, she never shirks her duties. That's why I find myself reading this series over and over. Why I recommend this series to my Native friends, family and the occasional stranger. Thank you Miz Faith. For staying true to the People, the legends, and yourself as you craft each story.
